Your Oddest Recent Purchase?

Review of Crazy Heart right here. Darn, I like that guy.

Need I say more. Garage sale purchase last Saturday.
This cheers me up when I walk in my front door. It's really big (this is a six foot wall) and the frame is bright red. Wouldn't you like to see the rest of my artwork? Nah, you wouldn't.

What about you? Are you given to January impulse buying?

I love Olive.

I bought a hubcap-looking mirror for over the fireplace. It's odd, and I like it.

A small, square plate made of blue & green glass and slivers of mirror (it appears to be homemade--maybe a student's art project). I got it at the Goodwill for $1.99. I put it in the back of the china hutch behind a grouping of cobalt blue glass and it looks lovely.

FYI is going out of business here. They used to be Media Play. All their CDs, DVDs, and books are now 40% off. I bought some CDs but my oddest purchase was a two-disk set of John Barry's JAMES BOND music. It really takes me back...

Boy, Media Play went out here and nothing replaced it. I didn't know they compiled the Bond music.
I have cupboards full of plates I've picked up. It's ridiculous and I don't know how to display half of it or how to get rid of it. Almost as bad as the books.

My last impulse buy was a dead Maidenhair Fern at Lowe's. We were checking out and I saw it set to one side.
"Throwing that one away?" I asked.
No, it'll go back to the grower for a refund."
"How much will they give you?"
"About 50 cents."
I'll give you 50 cents for it right now." I said. My wife thought I was crazy, but I could tell it was just a dieback. Now it's an almost foot tall, lush fern ready to be transplanted into a shady area of the garden.

I wish those stores would treat their plants better. I don't think they see the difference between plants and pipes.

Amen to that. By the way, I like your new icon. Should we start calling you "Barbara"? (that is Stanwick, yes?)

I think I reached a little too high. Perhaps Olive would have suited me more.

How about Greer Garson?

Your purchase or my avatar?

Impulse buying. Nope. Not me. (Books don´t count, do they? And paper napkins - well, they don´t cost anything)

How much do you want for it?

Love your new picture. Even with the dark glasses it's better than the others because it's a close up.

I only buy what I am told to buy. But I spend freely.

It's Barbara Stanwick.

I didn't know you could buy the sun, but if you can I'd like to buy it for the state of Michigan. Thanks, Kitty.
